When the Express newspaper group
left its building on Fleet Street, they moved into
this building on Blackfriars Road at the entrance
on to Blackfriars Bridge. It would be
tempting to think that, when they commissioned
this building, they had in mind their Art Deco
buildings in Glasgow, Manchester and on Fleet
Street and said, "Can you do us another one like
that but not in black this time?". They made
the move in the 1980s so this is obviously not Art
Deco, but there are strong resemblances with the
buildings designed by Sir Owen Williams.
