It seems that, as with
other Richard Seifert buildings, this one has
attracted both landmark status and
architectural criticism. The City of
London Pevsner Guide describes it as, "...
the excessively large block between
Leather Lane and Hatton Garden (with)
Plum-tinted glazing between pale stone
floor bands. Clumsy ground-floor
shopping arcade." Elsewhere
it is charcterized as, "... an
impressive glass-fronted office
building". I suppose what
you can say is that whatever your point of
view Seifert's buildings rarely go unnoticed.
