Description
The Budapest Marriott Hotel is a dominant feature of the Danube riverside in Pest between the Elizabeth Bridge and the Chain Bridge.  This monumental glass and concrete T-shaped building offers the occupants of all of its 362 rooms a spectacular view of the Danube and beyond to Buda.  When it was built in the 1960s, it was called the Duna Intercontinental Hotel.  It became a Marriott in 1993.

In my opinion it is a wonderful example of architecture of its time.  Often people say that something looks good until you get up close.  I'd argue that this building gets even better when you get up close.
