Description
This interesting and unusual church in Briesach is unfortunately a building with serious problems.  The congregation is engaged in raising the estimated 1.2M Euros it will take to renovate the church.  The restoration plan is designed to address substantial damage to the foundation on which the 4 points of of the tent-folding roof are supported.

The concrete of the foundation is suffering from concrete cancer, a phenomenon which has led to significant damage.  In addition moisture damage to the wooden structure of the support points has resulted in a fungal attack and strong corrosion of steel hubs.

Construction work is scheduled to begin in May of 2017 and take approximately 12 months. During this time the church will not be available for services.  When I visited the building in July of 2016, it appeared as if some work was already underway.
