Somerset House - Temple Street, Birmingham, UK

Architect
Essex & Goodman
Date Built
1936
Location
Temple Street
Description
An office building occupied, in September of 2011, by Shakespeares legal services; Camland, developers; and HRG, a corporate travel company.  The building features bands of wide windows balanced on either end by bays that have balconies on the second floor.  The stone carving above the entrance shows a sailing ship flanked by the tools of various trades.  This perhaps gives a clue to the original purpose of the building.
