Construction of the Forum
Kino (cinema) in the Bergen suburb of
Kronstadt began in 1936. The
incomplete building was used during World
War II by the German invaders as a warehouse
for their cavalry. Its final
conversion into a cinema was completed in
1946 at which point it was known as the
Kronstadt Kino. The premiere was on
the 4th of October, 1946. The
completed cinema was capable of
accommodating an audience of 1,140, making
it the largest cinema in Bergen.
The Forum closed as a
cinema in 2000 and was subsequently sold to
a religious organization.
