Description
When this beautiful art deco cinema opened in the late 1930s, it was known as the Cosmopolitan or Cosmo for short, a fact that is preserved today in the name of its cafe, displayed on the marquee.  When it opened, it was the first art-house cinema built outside of London.  In its original format it had an 850 seat auditorium.  In 2018 this Category B Listed cinema has three screens.
