This art deco
office building on Great Charles Street was
once home to the Colonial Mutual Life
Assurance, a company
founded in Melbourne, Australia in
1873. On either side of the entrance
there are some rather good bas-relief
sculptures of some rather serious looking
gentlemen. Since I have found no
information about the sculptures, I can only
speculate that these must have been men who
were associated with CML.     |
