Description
This was originally The Turkish Bank.  Even the guide books for Budapest say that this building doesn't amount to much, until you look up to the top and see this magnificent mural by Miksa Roth.  It depicts the image of the glory of Hungary with the Virgin Mary at the centre.  Originally, the building was topped by a huge crystal globe on the roof but that was removed before the war.  The building was heavily damaged during World War II but it was restored in 2008.
