The foundation stone of
this church and Franciscan convent was laid
in 1908. The church has three naves
separated by slender columns. The
stone facade features sculptural work by
Josep Llimona, including a relief on the
door and a picture of St. Francis of Assisi
in the upper gable. The adjoining
convent is more sober, appropriate to its
Franciscan occupants. Its facade is
composed of brick with stone dressing.
One of the highlights of the convent is the
large library over three floors.
