Description
|
The foundation stone
for Oslo's Nye (New) Theatre was laid on October
15, 1927 and the first performance took place on
February 26, 1929. Over the years the
building has seen changes of management and in
1999 came very close to bankruptcy. It
says of itself that, ".... The theater is
today a modern theater with a local
anchorage to Oslo City, offering its
audience a repertoire characterized by new
drama, both Norwegian and international, and
has thus linked threads back to the
theater's original goal."
