The Bilbao Tourism website says of this remarkable theatre that, "... If anything defines this modernist building .... it is its beautiful art nouveau façade, designed by the Basque-French decorator Jean Batiste Darroguy. Because of this unique façade this theatre, a listed monument,  has always been known as "The Chocolate Box". In 2010 the Campos Elíseos Theatre was opened again after a restoration process undertaken by the City Hall of Bilbao and the General Association of Authors (SGAE). Now it is a modern space with a capacity of 800 seats, with features for sets and cutting edge technology."
