St. Richard's Roman Catholic School Photograph generously donated by Graham Todd The 1997 OFSTED Inspection Report on St. Richard's describes it as follows: "St Richard's RC Primary School is situated to the south east of Manchester. There are currently 313 pupils on roll aged from four to eleven. There are 38 children who attend the nursery on either a full-time or a part-time basis. A total of 163 pupils are eligible for free school meals. This is over half the school and is high by national standards. The school has a clear mission statement that reflects its Roman Catholic faith and this is the foundation of the whole educational process. This includes the aims to develop the potential of each individual physically, spiritually, academically and emotionally; to encourage self-esteem and respect for others through working together as a team and to develop a sense of responsibility. Inspired by the Gospel, it requires that the school should demonstrate the values of love, peace, truth and justice." |
