The Midway

Technically a Levenshulme pub, the Midway was the local for many Longsight residents living in the south end of the district. The 1820s map of Longsight shows an area that would be hardly recognizable today. It was a rural area of farmers' fields and very few houses. At the corner of what are now Stockport Road and Mathews Lane on the 1820 map stands Midway House. It is possible that this is the same building.

The Midway has not been a pub for a long time.  The image below shows it in April of 2014 when, among other things, it is home to the UK College of Arts & Technology.
