St Clement's Church

 

Located on Dillon Street, St. Clement's Church and School closed in 1974 and were demolished during the redevelopment of the northeastern section of Longsight in the 1970s.  The church was founded in 1871 and can be seen in the map below from the 1890s

The certificate below was sent to me from Australia by Judith De Closey.  The Coronation Day Certificate from St. Clement's Day School was awarded to her grandmother Jessie Williams.  The occasion was the coronation of King Edward VII who was married to Princess Alexandra.
