on Stockport road just south of Richmond Grove, this
was our local post office.
Outside were the
telephone boxes, that everyone relied upon in the days
when most people didn't have a phone at home, and
inside a counter stretching along the side wall with
blotting paper and pens on chains. I bought my savings
stamps here and dreamed of being rich. Below
