Brook
House
- Spring Gardens Brook House occupies a
site on Spring Gardens between West Mosley Street and
Fountain Street. It was designed by Edward Walters
and built in 1851. It features four floors and an
added attic storey. The ground floor is faced with
sandstone. The floors above are red brick with
windows framed in sandstone. Sills are integrated
with the lintels of the windows below.
The web site advertising
the building for rent describes it as follows: "The
building has recently undergone an extensive
refurbishment programme both internally and
externally. The resulting offices provide companies
with the opportunity to acquire high quality
accommodation in the heart of Manchester’s central
business district. A variety of different suites are
available within the building, offering contemporary
style accommodation with feature lighting and exposed
parquet flooring or alternatively more traditional
office space with suspended ceilings and recessed LG3
lighting."
One of the building's
occupants, as you can see from the image below, is the
Spanish Consulate.
