Castlefield
House
Castlefied
House is located on Liverpool Road between the
Upper and Lower Campsfield Market
buildings. The companies who are
attempting to let the building describe it as,
follows: "Castlefield House is a landmark
building which is currently undergoing an
extensive refurbishment."
This was once
the site of St. Matthew's Church. It was
designed by Sir Charles Barry, the architect
responsible for the Mosley Street Art Gallery
and the Athenaeum Club, in Manchester, and the
Palace of Westminister in London.
The church was demolished in 1951.
