The Manchester Bar Review web site says that it is a "proper pub in the area of Salford, just off Manchester’s Deansgate, that’s enjoying a resurgence with many new luxury apartments. Whilst you won’t find any Newton & Ridleys beer in here, closet ‘Corrie’ fans may want to pay it a visit, just to say they’ve drank in the Rover’s (albeit, it’s not the immaginary one featured in the show – that’s not far away in Granada Studios). The Rovers Return is an occasional venue for the Salford/Manchester underground music scene."
