Trafford Park Euroterminal  To the west of the Old
Trafford Football Ground is the Trafford Park
Euroterminal. This container transhipment point
opened in the summer of 1993 at the cost of £11
million. It is one of nine serving the UK.
It has the capacity to handle 100,000 containers a year
on its 20-acre site.
 This site has been a
railyard for a long time as the image below
shows. It was taken in 1953. The orange
arrow shows the site of the present
Euroterminal. The purple arrow indicates the
site of an Old Trafford Football Ground car park.
