Bridge
![]() The pedestrian
pathway that runs between Albert Bridge House and
Alberton House leads to the River Irwell. The
Trinity Bridge takes the footpath across the river
to the Lowry Hotel.
![]() The bridge was designed by Santiago Calatrava Valls, a Spanish architect, sculpture and structural engineer. He has created a number of spectacular bridges around the world, as well as an Art Museum in Milwaukee, in the USA, and the BCE Place in Toronto, Canada. ![]() ![]() ![]() A single walkway crosses the Irwell from the
Manchester side but on the Salford side it forks in
mid-air and ramps down towards the Lowry Hotel and
Quay Street. A 41-meter pylon, angled towards
Salford, supports the structure |
