Millenium Footbridge near the Lowry, Salford Quays, 1998 - 2000 Known as
the Lowry Footbridge it spans the Manchester Ship
Canal thereby linking Michael Wilford's Lowry
Centre with Daniel Libeskind's Imperial War Museum
North. The bridge has been described as
looking, "like two giant wishbones welded
together, as if part of a vast skeleton had been
re-used to support the bridge." The bridge
is attributed to the international engineering
company Parkman but the superstructure was
designed by the Spanish architect, Carlos
Fernandez Casado.
