The Manchester and Salford Bank - Middleton

This three storey building is located in Middleton's Market Place. It is faced with a buff-coloured glazed terracotta. The building is three bays wide with three tall dormers rising up through the roof line. The drain pipes and fittings are very artistic in design and the glass shows Wood's interest in Art Nouveau.

The symmetry of the first and second floors is in contrast with the lack of symetry on the ground floor. Three completely different doorways, of increasing elaboration, frame the ground floor windows.
