The Sealion House
The Sealion House

Captain Harry Smith and his wife Evelyn looked after the Sealion House from 1947.

For a small additional fee Belle Vue visitors were given entry to the Sealion House and treated to a performance that showed the sealions balancing, juggling, playing trumpets and even driving a miniature car. After Harry died Evelyn took over and she was in turn replaced by George Wilbourne and finally "Captain" Bill Burgess.
