The staff used the post to keep
the Head informed about
developments and problems at the reception site. These letters
reveal a degree of irritation and understandable difficulty arising
from the integration of children from more than one school attempting
to rub along in the same building. There were obviously problems
with accommodation, timetables and staffing. The Heads attempted
to resolve them and to pour oil on troubled water. I have blanked
out names because whilst I thought that it was interesting to read
about what happened it wasn't appropriate to expose who it was who was
being written about and who was writing. Here are a series of
letters written in January and February of 1941.
With all the shuffling back and
forward there were practical problems and here is one letter that
illustrates that. I left Les Holding's name on it because it was
far from controversial.
