This building across the road from Freiburg's hauptbahnhof is the headquarters of Volksbank.  The future of this 1970s building is apparently a subject of some debate.  An article in the Badische Zeitung on March 6, 2015 explained that the discussions are centered around whether to refurbish it or demolish and rebuild it.  The article pointed out that, "...The old building is dilapidated, the facade has to be renewed, according to Barth, the ventilation and all the technology needs to be replaced."  If it is to be replaced then the issue is how high the new new building can be to satisfy local planners while providing the bank with adequate space for its employees.
