Statoil's
Northern Headquarters building occupies a
prominenmt site on Harstad's
waterfront. The tekla.com website
explains that this 11000 square meter
building was, in part, situated over the
sea. They add that, "...
The environment provided multiple
challenges. For example, structural
engineers had to carefully take seismic
actions into account. Thus, there was a
clear need for accuracy in planning of
design, production, logistic, and
erection to ensure the success of the
project. Precast concrete elements
were fabricated in a factory in
Lithuania and shipped with cargo ships
to Norway. The fabricator used Tekla
Structures in production planning and
designing loading schemes for shipping."  |
