Description
Rockheim is the national museum of popular music in Trondheim.  The building started life in the early 20th century as a grain warehouse and evidence of its commercial past can still be seen today.

In 2007 work began to transform it into the permanent home for the museum.  Following an competition initiated, by the Ministry of Culture, the project was awarded to Entra Eiendom with Pir II as the architect.

Floating above the old warehouse is a roof box that is home to a permanent exhibition.  Its exterior decoration makes it an attractive feature in daylight but at night it becomes even more prominent when it lights-up.
