This building was designed by the architectural practice of "Oxford Architects".  The £10.5m building houses 7400msq of computer racking and 2600sqm of low energy office space. In a booklet entitled "Science Up Close" The Science and Technology Facilities Council (owners of the building) explain that, "With a team of nearly 200, STFC Scientific Computing is home to many supercomputers and high performance hardware of incredible power and sophistication, backed by cutting-edge skills in software development, world-leading capabilities in 'big-data' storage and analysis, leading-edge visualisation and simulation, and scientific information management - truly helping to shape all of our futures."
