Description
This building in Trinity Square, across from the Tower of London, is described as the flagship hotel in London of the Dutch CitizenM Hotel chain.  It sits on top of one of London's busiest Tube stations and adjacent to a fragment of the city's Roman Wall.

The building's facade was designed by Sheppard Robson and they say on their website that it, "... is characterised by the use of Portland Stone, a material that is in-keeping with the adjacent Trinity Square. The frame is animated by vertical concrete fins that are intersected by horizontal aluminium projections, the lightness of which act as a counterpoint to the robustness of the stone. The vertical array of fins has been carefully placed to provide shading and contribute to the building’s BREEAM Excellent sustainable credentials."

Behind the facade the building is composed of 370 pre-fabricated guest rooms built by Concrete Architectural Associates.  "This prefabricated method of construction means that the bedrooms benefit from enhanced quality control, which has resulted in precise detailing and excellent internal finishes – an essential characteristic of high-quality hotel rooms. This modern method of construction also improves efficiencies throughout delivery, boosting the sustainable credentials of the building."
