Bosideng Store, Mayfair, London

Architect
DSDHA
Date Built
2012
Location
South Molton Street
Description
This new building on South Molton Street in London's Mayfair district is home to the Chinese retailer Bosideng.  It occupies a narrow triangular site, once home to a pub, at the confluence of South Molton Street and Davies Street as they both feed into Oxford Street.  The configuration of the plot dictates a building of this shape resulting in London's version of the Flatiron Building in New York.

In addition to this high-end mens' clothing store, the building is also home to office space and penthouse residential accommodation. Apparently the architects delivered the store in less than 9 months and in time for the 2012 Olympics.  The building's facade is made up of glass and terracotta.
