Description

ERRE Arquitectura say
of this collection of buildings that it was,
".... created with the aim of training,
advising and financing entrepreneurs of
today and tomorrow and constituted a
commitment to the creation of wealth,
employment and the promotion of
entrepreneurship. .... the Royal Marina of
Valencia Juan Carlos I was chosen as the
location for this entrepreneurial
centre."
They explain on their website that in designing
the buildings they chose to open, " ...
large courtyards for light to filter inside.
.... It was essential to look
seawards, so we added an ENCLOSED BALCONY
running the length of the building and we
decided to locate the main circulation of
both buildings right there. We were
really worried about aggressiveness of
saline residue, so we brought from the ships
the material used to made their decks,
Fibreglass resin (FRP). Something
completely INNOVATIVE in the field of
architecture .... We wanted an
efficient building which only consumed the
energy necessary for proper operation. We
analysed sunlight from every direction and,
with an architectural solution, we devised
protection for the building from excessive
heat and light. In order for the facilities
to avoid heavy energy consumption to solve
problems, it was better not to create them.
For us, that’s energy EFFICIENCY."
The www.levantina.com website points out that, "...
Just like the project introduces a totally
innovative approach in the field of
architecture, such as the use of glass fibre
resin for construction, the design of its
interior spaces uses highly functional
traditional materials with important
technical features. Gris Perla granite by
Levantina becomes the stellar piece for
cladding staircases and main circulations in
the buildings. Nothing like the restraint of
its tone, pigmented with blacks and greys,
for reinforcing the functional spirit that
emanates from its interior spaces. And
nothing like the innate beauty of this
Natural Stone to give the building an
unmistakable aesthetic force where tradition
and avant-garde blend in a fluid dialogue."
