This building, designed by Glenn Howells occupies lot 6 of the Liverpool One development.  The first two floors of the building contain shops including, when I took these images in March of 2013, the bookseller Waterstones.  The second to ninth floors are residential.  Glen Howells' website say that, " ... 78 one and two bedroom apartments overlook either the street or the interior courtyard space and the tower apartments have uninterrupted views across Liverpool City Centre."

The brief was to create a landmark building and there is no disputing the fact that it dominates the street.  The exterior has bronze fins that, " ... provide animated views that change as you perceive the building at different angles from street level as well to provide solar shading of the glass façade."
