Description
This church building on Tavistock Place, built in the 1960s, used to be known as the Regents Square United Reform Church.  In recent times it has changed its name to the Lumen URC and the building has undergone a significant redesign.  The architectural practice of Theis and Khan were commissioned to, “ ... create a new church and community centre open to people of all faiths.”  They created a building that includes, “ ... a new accessible entrance, a community cafe, a sacred space, church and three community spaces as well as ancillary accommodation.”

If you look in to the church through the attractive window on Tavistock Place, created by Rona Smith, you can see the conical sacred space designed by Theis and Khan.

"A new garden has been created from the existing car park at the rear as a place of tranquility and calm.”
