Gunwharf Quays is a waterfront development that provides a range of new and refurbished properties including residential, retail and leisure facilities.  The architect Scott Brownrigg designed this tower.  The practice's website describe it as, "a thirty storey glass cylindrical tower aligned at the apex of the Canalside dock overlooking the wider development and public piazza."  The tower resembles a ship's funnel and along with the nearby Spinnaker Tower, which resembles a sail, it adds to the nautical theme of the development.  The tower, which is apparently also known as "the lipstick", accommodates 141 studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments.
