Description
Bellhus sits beside the Metro line linking Copenhagen city centre with the airport and close to Bella Centre, Scandinavia's largest exhibition and conference center.  The architects say on their website that Bellahus, " ... thrusts upwards between the promenade and the canal waterscape along Ørestad Boulevard. Given its fields of different grasses and rows of shady trees, the green could have taken its cue from Fælleden, which is a natural resort in Copenhagen.  Facing Ørestad Boulevard and with a split gable façade comprising a white rendered section set on the site and a lighter, floating section that points skywards, Bella Hus cuts a svelte and elegant figure.  .... The oblong room windows inset in the white blocks produce a dancing rhythm effect across the building. In between the white blocks are the extensively glazed open living spaces ensuring a wonderful infusion of light and in all the flats there is an opening onto a large south-facing balcony. The balconies present as clip-on boxes of coloured glass in four shades, which adds to the sense of privacy around the individual balcony."
