Description |

The Mimoa website says that, "...100
Wood Street is a building with two
faces." The one shown
below that faces on to Wood Street,
"... is a conservative and simple
arrangement of alternating stone piers
and windows, .... ..... This is crowned by a curved diagrid roof, featuring alternating opaque and transparent panels." The west elevation is quite different. "Here the composition edges around the former churchyard of St Mary Staining - complete with tree and Roman ruins - in a bold raking curve of glass. .... ... The lower
two floors are vertical and the line
of the building above is continued
to the ground by dramatic, giant,
leaning steel columns, which some
believe are purely for looks and
serve no structural purpose."
