Description
Bewick Court is a 19 storey residential tower block that sits on top of a platform that spans John Dobson Street in Newcastle city centre.  It was built as part of the redevelopment of the city in the 1970s, a story that was retold in the BBC drama series "Our Friends in the North".  This project, that was meant to rejuvenate an area in decline, ended up with charges of corruption being laid against prominent individuals.

In recent times the tower has been re-clad and inside the living spaces have been refurbished.  It is home to 133 one and two bedroom apartments and is owned and managed by the North British Housing Association.
