Description

An entry on the "residentialland.com" website,
in December of 2015, describes Elliot House as,
"... Twenty two 2, 3 and 4 bedroom
apartments to let, Elliott House is a
handsome Art Deco building located in
London’s chic and trendy Marylebone, within
walking distance to Hyde Park, the shops of
Oxford Street and Marylebone High Street.
The apartments are set over 4 floors and
offer incredibly light and spacious living,
most with outside space. The apartments are
classically furnished and range from 800 sq
ft 2 beds to 2500 sq ft 3/4 bedroom
penthouses with terraces. All have en-suite
bathrooms to the master bedrooms and fully
equipped separate kitchens with
washer/dryers. The building also benefits
from a 24 hour porter and limited
underground parking. There is currently a
maid service available by separate
negotiation."
However, the "www.marylebone.org" website had an
entry posted on December 7, 2015, that was a
response to a planning application. It
involved, "... Demolition of building,
excavation of sub-basement, and erection of
replacement building over sub-basement,
lower ground, ground and part-four and
part-five upper storeys to provide 32 car
parking spaces (accessed by car lifts on
Cato Street), cycle parking, plant,
ancillary gym and refuse store at basement
level; plant within lower ground floor
vaults; and up to 36 flats (Class C3) over
lower ground to fifth floor levels."
adding that, "... Elliott House has been
unoccupied for a number of years and we
welcome in principle the proposal to
redevelop and bring new residential use to
this large site in the Molyneux Street
Conservation Area. As is natural with a
development of this scale, we have some
points of objection to the detail of the
proposals as well as some requests for
further information. We have noted points of
support and some items where we would
request that Westminster Council adds a
Condition to any planning consent."
