| People who
lived in Longsight before the clearances of the late 60s
and early 70s would find much of Stockport Road
unrecognizable with just the odd building still there to
jog their memories. However, once you cross the
Dickenson Road / Stanley Grove junction they would
encounter a stretch of the road that is substantially
the same as it has been for decades. There are
some new buildings and some landmarks have gone.
The names on the shops have changed but here the
