The Springbank

Another Longsight pub, also with an Irish connection, O'Connors was originally called the "Spring Bank Inn" and in the 1950s it sat next door to Woolworths. The facade of the old Woolworths store can be seen just to the left of O'Connor's and set back behind the present day grocery store front.

The Spring Bank / O'Connor's has now gone and as you can see from this photograph ,taken in April of 2009, the site was under redevelopment.
