The Birch Park
Roller Skating Palace was located close to the corner
of Anson Road and Dickinson Road within sight of the
entrance to Birch Park. In the 1930s the rink was home
to Austen and Queenie Brooks the Roller Skating Dance
Champions of Great Britain. The Birchfield Roller Palace in 1962.
The girl in the middle of the back row is Mary
Abramowicz. To her left is Pat Garde and to her right
Diane Roth. The photograph was generously donated by
Mary. Inside the Palace in the 1950s ******************* In the 1980s the
Roller Skating Palace was changed into a club which in
turn went out of business. The image below was
taken of the building in 1999 by Les Cotton. The images below were taken in March
