Situated on Stockport Road not far from the junction with Plymouth Grove, Longsight's Public Hall has provided a variety of services to the community over many years. As you can see from the images at the top of this page, it functioned as a Youth Centre for a while and, when I took these images in 2009, it was the temporary home of Longsight Library during its refurbishment. Ironically the old Longsight Library was housed in a building attached to the rear of the hall. The photographs above and below were donated by Barbara Barraclough - a librarian at the new Longsight Library Among the functions at the hall were weddings. Below is a wedding photograph taken on the steps on the Stockport Road side of the building. The photograph was donated by Keith Taylor. It was his parents' wedding day.

are more views of Longsight Hall taken in the Spring
of 2009.
The image below
was taken in April of 2014. The sign for the
Youth Centre is still displayed on the building.
